Alaor Soares Workshops: Afoxé & Baião |

Born in São Paulo, Alaor left Brazil to teach at the Rotterdam Conservatory. As a musician, educator, producer and entrepreneur, he has always been involved in the development of Brazilian music in the Netherlands. Alaor gives daily lessons to elementary schools, high schools, companies, samba groups, orchestras and combos. As a musician Alaor can be seen in different theaters, rodas de samba and festivals, sometimes as a drummer, sometimes as a percussionist. His passion is to teach as many people as possible the different rhythms of Brazilian percussion, an intricate puzzle of different instruments and techniques. |
Maxim Zettel  Workshops: Pandeiro & Samba Funk |

Maxim Zettel lives as a freelance musician, percussionist, teacher and composer in Cologne, Germany. Samba, Bossa Nova, Choro, MPB, Salsa, Son and Rumba – for many years now, Maxim Zettel’s passion has been Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music. Apart from that, he also plays Pop, Funk, Latin-Jazz, World Music and Flamenco as part of his standard repertoire. Performing and teaching go hand in hand with Maxim Zettel. Since 2007 he teaches Brazilian percussion in World Music Department of the Conservatory “Codarts” in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This renowned department – the only one of its kind in Europe – is regarded as a standout reference in the international music scene. Maxim is an endorser for Timbra instruments. |
Mireille Linger  Workshops: Samba Reggae |

Mireille Linger is the founder and owner of MLPercussion. With an impressive track record in Brazilian music, particularly in Afro-Brazilian culture, she has been teaching, giving masterclasses, and performing both nationally and internationally for over 25 years. In Brazil, she is known as "Maestrina Mirella”. She conducts several samba groups, including her own group named Bloco Bahia Deventer. She organizes monster sambas, music travels to Brazil and workshops for groups of up to 100 people. Additionally, she runs a social workshop where she works with young people who face challenges, building Brazilian instruments that are sold in her store in Deventer. Mireille is described as someone with joyful, infectious energy, who connects and inspires people. |
Willem de Gooyert  Workshops: Rio Style Samba |

Willem has been exploring Brazilian percussion for near 20 years now. In that time, he has played with many groups all over Europe, as well as having travelled to Brazil several times to study and play with some of the greatest baterias. Some of his highlights include playing and/or teaching in Uniao dos Paises Baixos, Gamberro, Bloco X, London School of Samba, Paraiso, G.R.E.S. Unidos do Viradouro, G.R.E.S. Academicos do Salgueiro, Unidos da Vila Isabel, and many more! He currently teaches at the Brighton School of Samba in his hometown, and loves to explore new techniques and rhythms, with a samba twist. |
